Mike Miranda Reflects on DIRTYFEST 4

Q: Mike, I’m sure you’re still in recovery mode after DIRTYFEST 4! Overall, are you happy with how the weekend went?

Mike: Brother, I recovered enough to start DIRTYFEST 5 on Tuesday after!

We base the success of DIRTYFEST on one thing and one thing only: did we exceed everyone’s expectations? That’s it. We really don’t know until a few days after DIRTYFEST, when we finally take a minute to see the feedback on social media.

So, to answer your question, based on everything we see, we are happy.

Q: It seemed like attendance was up for all of the weekend’s events, and the pits looked busier than ever. Did this year’s turnout exceed your expectations?

Mike: In every way that we can count, attendance, the bike show, vendors, racers, everything, we had big growth. Again.

Q: It also looked like more international riders made the trip this year. What countries were represented at DIRTYFEST 4?

Mike: More international turnout, more East Coast turnout, and more Midwest turnout. Amazing. We are turning into a holiday destination.

Q: You, the DIRTYFEST team, and all the volunteers seemed nonstop all weekend. Between organizing the event, talking with riders and fans, and even finding time to run the starting gate, you were everywhere. How do you manage to do it all?

Mike: Because of our commitment to exceeding the expectations of our BMX family and making DIRTYFEST their event, our entire team bends over backwards, works around the clock, spares no expense, and always does our best.

We know how much it means to everyone there, so we make it happen, no matter what it takes.

Q: I know you’re probably already thinking about DIRTYFEST 5. Is there anything you can share with us about what fans can look forward to next year?

Mike: DIRTYFEST 5 will be bigger and better. DIRTYFEST 5 will exceed your expectations. I promise.

I am currently working on item number 112 on my list.
