DIRTYFEST

DIRTYFEST is in the books, the dust has settled over Vail Lake in Temecula, CA and we have to say a huge thank you to Mike Miranda, Eric Carter, Justin Shepard, James Vicente and the entire DIRTYFEST team for an amazing weekend.

Alan Foster beamed into DIRTYFEST straight from the 90s rocking the Schwinn & Airwalk uniform and UGP plate that looked straight out the center pages of Snap Magazine.

On track, as expected, Alan was still fast, consistent, a little slingshot and that same Foster style always found its way into the mains and very often on the box with the likes of Ellis, Leveque and co during the peak of the 90s.

Looks like Alan had fun on the podium and, I’m thinking, will be back for more at Frogtown.

Mike Buff (SE) & Race-Ince, Mikey Lundy, shooting the shit.

DIRTYFEST track designer and builder Eric Carter managed to find time between organizing, driving the water truck & machinery to actually grab a RETRO Race-Inc from Toby Henderson and line up on the gate for his first BMX race in a very long time. Maybe over a decade?

So how did EC do? A double of course and, on top of that, in his work boots as well.

The Wildman, Toddy Lyons, was still recovering from double knee surgery so he decided not to race but still hung out all weekend along with the SE crew and threw down some style on the track between motos.

Carter out front, ahead of Toby Henderson & Stu Thomsen. Not Eric Carter but his son Ethan Carter who along with his brother, Cole, were killing it at DITYFEST.

Dick Cheeseburger Jason Morris doing Dick Cheeseburger stuff.

Charlie Williams was absolutely on fire in Vail Lake. I witnessed first-hand how hard he was snapping as I lined up on the gate a few times with him over the weekend.

Charlie came away with a win in the 20” Pre-1976 class, 6th place in the 50 & Over Open and 2nd place in the Pro/Am. Solid weekend for the GHP rider team boss, Greg Hill, was stoked.

The man himself behind the No Holds Barred REAL BMX Facebook group, Henry Sarria. Always smiling, has deep roots in BMX & was on the Podium at DITYFEST and repping the BMX Weekly tee.
